Johnny Be Goode

I can't believe Johnny is almost six!  He'll be in first grade this fall.  He already have four adult teeth and he's reading and writing on his own.  It's easy to lose connection with a child once they stop wanting a kiss goodbye at school drop off, or when they prefer to play on their own with the door to their room closed, so I make a point of spending quality time with my firstborn every once in a while.  I watch him climb trees and admire fire engines, and we talk about all sorts of stuff, and we eat sugary treats together, because as much as I was terrified that his baby years will never end, I am twice as terrified that they will in fact end eventually.

You are my sun, Johnny Boy!  Mommy loves you SO much!
