All the cats in Lovech were feral. There weren't almost any stray dogs but cats were aplenty. They would just lie in the shade on stone walls and sidewalks, calm and easy as they can be, but the moment you pass by they would freeze and look at you with those crazy eyes and then run for their lives like they've never seen a human before. I fed some of them but most were skittish and untrusting so I only managed to pet one or two cats... Water, water everywhere and not a drop to drink!
(It's not visible very well, but in this first picture a cat was waiting for something to drop down from the sparrow's nest, hopefully a baby bird, and preferably straight in her mouth. Tough luck.)
